Session Evaluation
As FTTH is proliferating deeper into lower density environments to address “unserved” and “underserved” areas, some unique challenges need to be considered when assessing the business case. Government funding initiatives such as BEAD and RDOF certainly help with deploying fiber into more rural locations, but this doesn’t always result in a viable operating model. Influencing factors such as subscriber density, regional geography, expected take rate, ARPU, and other criteria will all play a role in determining the most appropriate FTTH distribution solution for a given service area and help to maximize the ROI. During this session, we will look at various strategies for deploying FTTH within multiple environments and look at ways of driving efficiency within the network during the build cycle, options for deferring CapEx, and maximizing the profitability of a network.
