He’s a 26-year veteran of the telecom industry with diverse work experience as an Outside Plant Design Engineer, a Project Manager, and Sales Director for a national consulting firm. He’s been with Etex for the last 20 years.

Charlie is a strong advocate for rural providers and is recognized as a trusted telecom expert by many groups. His recognition and advocacy includes providing broadband education to state and federal leaders, a seat on advisory committees, multiple speaking engagements representing our industry, and invited testimony to the June 29th, Senate Business and Commerce Committee Broadband Panel.

Utilizing his approach to business transparency and engineering knowledge, Charlie was responsible for guiding Etex through the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network evolution, building reliable and scalable networks, and much more. His leadership, innovative approach, boundless energy, and vision earned him the title of CEO / General Manager of ETEX in 2013. His focus since then has been the transformation of Etex customer care culture, obtaining regulatory balance for the communications industry and developing a sales channel to deliver the best in communication, information, and entertainment services to residents of East Texas. This has led to regional partnerships with schools and communities that use the Etex fiber network.

A native Texan, Charlie graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in mathematics. He and his wife make their home in the area where they raise their three children. Both Charlie and Shelly are active in the community, as well as the numerous activities their children participate in.
