Jim Magallanes is president of TechniCool Innovations, Inc. He has over 25 years of experience designing, selling, and supporting data center cooling. Throughout his career he has engineered (14) air conditioners for the data center market. Magallanes began developing portable air conditioners in the mid-1990’s, with a number of designs going on to be best-selling models for decades. The result of early success in designing popular portable air conditioners, Magallanes quickly become a recognized industry expert specializing in IT, people and process cooling. Magallanes narrowed his expertise to data center cooling in the early 2000’s, he become an early pioneer of rack mount cooling and engineered his first rack mount air conditioner in 2004. Over the years he has watched the market grow and evolve, curating an expertise in design and market requirements for successful rack mount cooling products. Combing his seasoned engineering background and market expertise, Magallanes has developed several different rack mount air conditioners that bring high-efficiency data center cooling down to the rack level. Magallanes holds two US utility patents for rack mount cooling, and is proud of the energy savings it can bring to the power hungry industry. His goal is to make data centers of all sizes more sustainable, allowing everyone to enjoy the benefits of technology while curtailing the harm to the planet. Magallanes holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
