Description

Telemedicine programs generate positive economic and patient health outcomes. These gains can be especially beneficial in rural communities, which account for two-thirds of the U.S. primary healthcare provider shortage areas. Broadband connectivity in these regions is crucial to supporting telehealth, which is moving beyond synchronous video interactions and now incorporating VR and AI capabilities.

This session will introduce the economic and patient outcome benefits of telehealth; illustrate examples of new technology, including products featured and awarded at CES 2024; share perspectives from rural healthcare and broadband providers; and suggest pathways for rural and healthcare champions to implement tech-based solutions in rural spaces.

Learnings include:
1. Greater understanding of telehealth capabilities, technology, and applications.
2. Knowledge of specific product and services examples, as well as how healthcare policy may evolve to meet the market.
3. Guidance on how broadband and healthcare professionals can start meaningful conversations aimed at deploying telehealth solutions.
