Speaker Bio
The past 25+ years in Telecom has led to my dream job, Vice President of Engineering & Construction Operations Support, at Brightspeed. My team and I serve our Engineering & Construction community by overseeing; Capital & Expense programs, driving Vendor performance, Joint Use program management, Enterprise & Wholesale network readiness, network build, system development facilitating speed to market for our Fiber Build and making the larger team’s day run smoother.
Life has a funny way of changing one’s plans. I didn’t plan on growing up in Telecom, law was in my sites. A bad car crash threw a monkey wrench. A friend told me Nynex was hiring. I got the job and never looked back.
Starting as a representative, I was drawn to the technical side of order fallout. I became the self-proclaimed cheat sheet maker. I moved onto ACD management, Sales Manager, Training Manager and then out into Installation & Repair in Outside Plant. These long past experiences solidified my thirst for knowledge, analyzation and process development and that drive has moved me through some great experiences.
I continued to move through different areas of the business broadening my resume palette and in hindsight each move was at the perfect time. In Outside Plant Construction we built what is now a household name FiOS. The original premise passed came from my work location. How cool is that? Moving into National Staff, we created a mobile workforce through mobile application development at a time of cultural fragility. We took dinosaur applications and pushed them into the forefront of our industry. Other industry leaders modeled their processes and applications after us, that is what trailblazing is all about. After maturing the Wireline network, I moved to Wireless 5G FWA with a product that was at the forefront of first to market across the USA.
It doesn’t matter if I was developing troubleshooting guides to aid representatives, building a universal time reporting platform for 25k employees, creating system solutions for people problems or diversifying vendors for favorable pricing strategy finding the gap & more efficient means to operate is what fuels me.
On a more quasi personal side, I am an education junky. I love learning. I have a B.S. in Organizational Management, Master of Business Administration and a Certification in Naturopathic Medicine. I keep threatening the family that I am going to go back for my PhD. My husband and I live just north of NYC with our 2 children and oversized pup. We love all things outdoors when it isn’t too cold!
