Vernon Yow is the Senior National Sales Director for the Enterprise, Carrier & Distribution sales team at Sumitomo Electric Lightwave, an end-to-end fiber optic solutions manufacturer for data center, enterprise, and communication network providers.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte with a B.S. in Engineering Technology, Vernon joined Raychem Corp first as an Application Engineer then transitioned into a Regional Sales Manager. During this time, he saw a shift in network requirements, where higher bandwidth was increasingly needed resulting in the increased reliance on fiber in most networks. From there he joined Charles Industries which provided Vernon with insight into copper and fiber closures, as well as some small carrier equipment. The culmination of these years focusing on copper and fiber closures created a strong background needed for his current role focusing on end-to-end fiber optic solutions by way of cable, connectivity and fusion splicers.

In his career, Vernon has had the opportunity to connect with people across a wide range of skillsets, from technicians to CEOs, and utilizes these meetings to enhance his knowledge of the telecommunications industry. As the role of fiber glass continues to evolve to meet consumer demands, Vernon is excited to see where the future of the industry leads.

Vernon resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife Rosemary and three sons, Jacob, James & John.
