Jared is the Director of Enterprise Security & Software Engineering at Highline, where he spearheads the organization's security and software teams' vision, strategy, and operations. Collaborating across departments, Jared drives the secure integration of AI initiatives alongside the implementation of robust security policies, vulnerability and risk management, regulatory compliance, incident response, and the SDLC. He is also the founder of Owen Cybersecurity Advisory Service LLC, where he acts as the lead vCISO providing cybersecurity and business consulting services. Demonstrating his commitment to industry-wide resilience, Jared serves on the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC IX). Previously, he worked with Department of Defense (DoD) contractors to ensure readiness for CMMC 2.0 and NIST SP 800-171 compliance, delivering Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Information Assurance (IA) artifacts for DoD integrated systems. He received his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a focus in Network Management, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Colorado Technical University, and a master’s degree in Information Systems with a focus in Cybersecurity & IA from the University of Colorado. He currently holds a plethora of certifications, including ISACA CRISC, CompTIA Network+, Security+, and CASP+.
